The business purpose of this Site is to provide Ford’s customers a showcase of parts catalog and dealers from which customers can purchase parts. Information We Collect From You: SimplePart, may collect, on behalf of Ford, the following information: Your IP address, when we want to connect you with the three nearest dealers that can provide you with the part that you are looking for;
Technological data (data on your browser type and operating system, the webpage you visit, the links you click on, the duration of your visit on the Site and the referring URL, i.e., the web page that led you to our Site), when you visit our Site; and
Essential session cookies when you are shopping parts. 3. How We Use the Information We Collect: The information collected may be used to: Suggest you a selection of the three the nearest dealers that have the vehicle parts you are looking for, based on the general IP address that we collect;
Connect the session cookie to the order and provide the dealer with essential information to process the order and ship it to you;
Make the user experience more customer friendly;
Develop new and improved products, services and marketing;
Generate site analytics that improve our site layout, content, product offerings and services; and
Comply with legal requirements. 4. Sharing Your Information: We may share information that we collect about you with other companies within the Ford family of companies or subsidiaries. Our “family of companies” is the group of companies related to us by common control or ownership. We share information within this “family” as a normal part of conducting business and offering products and services to our customers. The personal information that is collected by SimplePart on behalf of Ford is shared with our authorized dealers nearest you. The dealer is not restricted by Ford in their use of your personal information. Collection, use and disclosure of your personal information by dealer(s) is subject to the dealers privacy policies and terms. We may share information with vendors, contractors, or partners in the normal course of business. Vendors, contractors, or partners of Ford who have access to your information in connection with providing services for Ford are required to keep the information confidential and are not permitted to use this information for any other purpose than to carry out the services they are performing for Ford. Site metrics for the Site may be shared with other Ford websites or subsidiaries or affiliates.
